Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo (2026) review: an unmatched dual-screen monster

The Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo (2026) is a powerful gaming laptop featuring two 3K OLED touchscreens. Despite its capabilities, the design is understated, with a dark color scheme and minimal branding. The laptop's non-sleek appearance and ill-fit edges are somewhat disappointing, but the overall build quality is solid, and it remains relatively compact for a dual-screen machine.

The dual displays are cleverly integrated, with the keyboard detachable to reveal the secondary screen. A sturdy stand underneath the laptop allows for flexible display positioning. The device comes with a range of ports, including Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, USB-A, an SD card reader, and an HDMI output. The top-spec model in this review was equipped with the RTX 5090 GPU, delivering impressive gaming performance at 50-60fps on high settings in Cyberpunk 2077.

The keyboard provides a satisfying typing experience with generous travel and tactile feedback, although the keys feel cramped in the WASD position. The integrated touchpad offers reliable cursor control. However, the battery life is disappointing, lasting only around four hours during a continuous movie playback test.

Priced at $4,499.99 (starting), the ROG Zephyrus Duo is an expensive device, but its high-end performance makes it a compelling choice for gamers who prioritize a dual-screen setup. There are alternative options available, such as the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i, which offers comparable features at a lower price but lacks a dedicated GPU. For those who don't require dual screens, the Razer Blade 18 is another high-performance gaming laptop, but its price is also quite steep.
