Anwar Gargash hails Sheikh Abdullah’s leadership of UAE diplomatic push at UN

Dubai's Dr Anwar Gargash, the UAE's Diplomatic Adviser to the President, has lauded the leadership of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in spearheading an extensive diplomatic and economic push during the UN General Assembly in New York. Gargash stated that the numerous meetings convened under Sheikh Abdullah's leadership bolstered the UAE's global presence and forged new international partnerships.

As the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Sheikh Abdullah oversaw the UAE's delegation at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, held from September 22 to 28. The delegation comprised ministers and senior officials from various sectors such as foreign affairs, trade, industry, climate, health, and international cooperation.

Gargash expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Abdullah for his exceptional leadership, highlighting the comprehensive diplomacy that took place throughout the week, which included discussions on trade, investment, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, energy, food security, education, health, and climate action. During these meetings, Sheikh Abdullah engaged with foreign ministers and senior officials from numerous countries, addressing regional and international developments, multilateral cooperation, and endeavors to promote peace and security.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE's dedication to fostering international partnerships and constructive dialogue to foster sustainable development and stability.

Gargash described the week's diplomatic activities as a collective national effort for which the UAE could be proud, underpinned by a history of credibility, contribution, trust, and international partnerships. Entering this year's General Assembly, the UAE had three primary objectives: advancing conflict resolution and global stability, supporting reforms to enhance the effectiveness of the United Nations, including the responsible use of AI, and promoting climate action and sustainable water solutions.

Sheikh Abdullah met with foreign ministers and senior officials, including the topic of the Gaza conflict, Sudan, and global cooperation at the UN, while also participating in a meeting with President Trump alongside other Arab and Islamic leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
