2027: LP urges governors to emulate Otti’s leadership

The Labour Party (LP) has urged governors and political leaders in Nigeria to follow the example of Abia State Governor Alex Otti as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections. LP National Publicity Secretary Ken Asogwa made the recommendation in a message marking Nigeria's Independence Day, urging Nigerians not to lose hope in the face of economic and security challenges.

Asogwa highlighted Otti's credible leadership during his tenure as a governor, stating that it provided a reason for Nigerians seeking change to have confidence in the LP's candidates in the upcoming polls. The party emphasized that Otti, a product of the LP, had demonstrated what it called "credible leadership," and urged all those in positions of authority to govern with empathy, justice, and transparency.

Asogwa noted that the economic and security difficulties faced by the country could be attributed to years of ineffective leadership. He called on Nigerians not to lose hope and to hold their leaders accountable, emphasizing that meaningful change could only come through active citizen participation. The LP reiterated its faith in the Nigerian people and their nation's potential as it looks ahead to the 2027 elections, where presidential, gubernatorial, and legislative contests are expected to dominate political activities.
