2027: If Tinubu wins, we are retired from politics, Amaechi tells ADC leaders

Former Rivers State governor and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Vice-President, Rotimi Amaechi, has warned ADC members that they will be forced to retire from politics if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wins the 2027 election. Amaechi spoke at the ADC-National Women League Conference in Abuja on Wednesday, urging the women to go back to their states and wards to bring in votes for the ADC.

He cited the 2015 presidential election, where the APC defeated the PDP, as an example of how women played a crucial role in bringing out the voters.

Amaechi warned that Nigeria's current state of hunger and the inability of many people to afford food or pay school fees would only worsen under Tinubu's leadership. He stated that 10 to 12 million children were out of school in the last election cycle, and that number has now risen to 20 million. He expressed concern over the increasing poverty levels and the impact it has on the north, where 80% of the out-of-school children reside.

The former minister of Transportation urged the women to work for the betterment of Nigeria, not to be intimidated, and to go out and convince their friends, neighbors, and others to vote for the ADC. He emphasized that if all the women in the north come out to vote, Tinubu cannot announce any election results. Amaechi also criticized the ADC for not having enough funds, stating that they have to get it by force.

He implored the women not to let anyone buy them food and to go to all corners of Nigeria, especially to the villages, to fight for the ADC's cause.
