Rotimi Amaechi, the presidential running mate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has declared his intention to retire from politics if President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) secures victory in the 2027 presidential election. During the ADC National Women League Conference in Abuja, Amaechi urged ADC leaders to mobilize their constituents to ensure Tinubu's defeat in the election.
He cautioned that a Tinubu win would force many ADC leaders to retire from politics. Amaechi stated, "If APC wins the 2027 elections, we are retired from politics." To prevent this outcome, Amaechi emphasized the importance of ADC leaders securing two thousand votes per ward.
