‘We’ll never compromise on quality’ – Agbodza tells Accra-Kumasi bypass supervisors

Governs Kwame Agbodza, the Minister of Roads and Highways, has emphasized that the government will not compromise on the quality of work being carried out on the Accra-Kumasi bypass project. During a conversation with the project supervisors, Mr. Agbodza stressed that the government's main objective was not merely to finish the road but to ensure it was constructed to a standard that would endure over time.

He affirmed that "We'll never compromise on the quality of the work" and cautioned that President John Dramani Mahama would not tolerate a project being completed during his tenure only to start developing potholes and other defects shortly after. Consequently, Mr. Agbodza called upon the regional directors overseeing the project to take their responsibilities very seriously, assuring them that the quality of work should not solely be attributed to him, but rather to those on the ground who are tasked with monitoring, supervising, and certifying the work.

The Minister expected those in charge to meticulously execute the project and held them accountable for any shortcomings arising from subpar craftsmanship. He urged them to approach their duties with integrity and deliver the road to the required standard.
