Riz Ahmed has been cast as Ganesh in Alejandro Inarritu's upcoming satire Digger, alongside Indian actors Fahadh Faasil and Vir Das. The film, set to release on October 2, features Tom Cruise as oil tycoon Digger Rockwell. Riz expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and hopes to collaborate with both Fahadh and Vir in the future.

He also mentioned his admiration for Indian actors Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as well as Huma Qureshi. In Digger, Riz's character, Ganesh, is a scientist and advisor to the titular character in a film filled with exaggerated characters. The film, which Riz finds healing and unifying, highlights the importance of storytelling in bridging divisions.
