‘The Love Hypothesis’ Sequel in the Works at MRC, Amazon

Despite being released on Prime Video just a week ago, a sequel to the romantic comedy "The Love Hypothesis" is already in development. Author Ali Hazelwood revealed on Instagram that she penned a sequel titled "The Two-Body Problem," set to be published in February. The upcoming book will continue the story of Olive (played by Lili Reinhart) and Adam (played by Tom Bateman), now a couple after their fake dating scheme turned into genuine love.

Hazelwood expressed excitement about the sequel, stating, "I wrote a sequel to The Love Hypothesis'—a sentence I never thought I'd say just a year or so ago." She emphasized that revisiting the characters was a delightful experience, describing the book as a blend of slice-of-life, postdoctoral struggles, and the challenging issue of deciding what to cook for dinner in a long-term relationship.

While Hazelwood noted that nothing is guaranteed regarding the film adaptation, social media buzz suggests that "The Love Hypothesis" has been a hit on Prime Video. The movie was released directly to streaming last week. Hazelwood's original "The Love Hypothesis" was inspired by her own fan fiction involving characters from "Star Wars," with names and scenarios altered for the book, which quickly became a bestseller.

The author expressed hope that readers would enjoy "The Two-Body Problem" and look forward to the potential film sequel from director Claire Scanlon.
