Jo Bertram resigns as CEO of O2 Business following the merger of VMO2's B2B division with Daisy Group. She will be temporarily replaced by Matthew Riley, founder of Daisy. O2 Business is the result of a merger between VMO2 (jointly owned by Telefónica and Liberty Global) and Daisy Group, with VMO2 owning 70% and Daisy the remaining 30%.

Jo Bertram joined O2, a subsidiary of Telefónica, in 2018 as Director of Digital and Strategy, and later took over as CEO of O2 Business after the merger with Daisy in 2025. She has held various executive positions within the company and played a crucial role in the merger with Daisy Group, successfully leading the integration during the first year of the new entity.

Matthew Riley, who has extensive experience in the sector, will serve as interim CEO and focus on strengthening the commercial aspect and revitalizing the product portfolio, while also realizing the synergies established through the merger. VMO2 emphasizes that this is not a dismissal and that Jo Bertram's departure is not linked to the planned cost-cutting plan of £600 million (€700 million) aimed at reducing debt and reassuring shareholders who are skeptical about her ability to handle a debt of £22 billion (€25.65 billion).

Bertram joined O2 as Director of Digital and Strategy in 2018 and, the following year, became the head of the Business area. Following the merger with Daisy, she was appointed CEO of O2 Business. She is also a non-executive director of British supermarket chain Sainsbury's. The resulting company was valued at £3 billion (€3.5 billion) at the time of the merger, with annual revenues around £1.4 billion (€1.63 billion).

It serves thousands of businesses, including Sainsbury's, British Sugar, and Southampton FC, among others in sectors such as education and healthcare.
