Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi Calls Houthis Terrorists

Prime Minister Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, the Coordinator for Religious Harmony and Pakistani Diaspora in the Middle East and Muslim Countries, has labeled the Yemeni Houthis as 'terrorists' during an international conference. Speaking alongside Muslim scholars and religious authorities, Ashrafi categorically rejected claims that the ongoing conflict is a Shia-Sunni war.

He insisted that the Houthis are terrorists and their actions should not be misconstrued as a sectarian battle between two Islamic denominations. Furthermore, Ashrafi emphasized that the war is not a struggle between neighboring countries but rather a campaign by a group intent on targeting innocent civilians. The Pakistani representative also reiterated Pakistan's unwavering support for Saudi Arabia, asserting that the security of the Kingdom, home to the two holiest Muslim sites, is non-negotiable.

He stressed that Pakistan's government, armed forces, religious scholars, and citizens stand firmly in solidarity with Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as they navigate the challenges confronting the nation.
