Taarabt: ‘I put my hands round Kaka’s neck at Milan, I lost my head’

Adel Taarabt recently shared his experiences from his time with AC Milan in a lengthy interview. The Moroccan international explained that the club's decision not to keep him was due to Mario Inzaghi's preference for other players. Taarabt himself had been in top form during his stint at the Italian club, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

He also spoke fondly of his relationship with Kaka, admitting that he lost his composure during a training incident. Taarabt claimed that he put his hands around Kaka's neck during a drill, which resulted in an apology between the two players. Apart from his on-field activities, Taarabt was known for his extravagant lifestyle both on and off the pitch.

He enjoyed visiting restaurants and nightclubs and even received the nickname 'Zizou' from a teenage Luka Modric, who compared him to Zinedine Zidane. When discussing Milan's current squad, Taarabt praised manager Ruben Amorim, acknowledging his directness and loyalty to the collective. He also expressed confidence in rising star Diego Moreira, suggesting that he would thrive under Amorim's guidance.
