Security forces kill 5 terrorists in KP IBO, 2 eliminated in Balochistan's Chagai: security sources

On Tuesday, Pakistani security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bara area, resulting in the deaths of five terrorists. The operation also saw the destruction of hideouts of a terrorist group known as Fitna al Khawarij, which is a banned faction of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan. Security sources reported that large quantities of weapons and ammunition were seized from the deceased terrorists.

Additionally, two terrorists were reportedly eliminated in an operation in Balochistan’s Chagai, as per reports from Pakistan TV citing security sources. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their successful operations in both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, highlighting their professionalism, courage, and bravery in the fight against terrorism.

The Prime Minister also pledged that operations against terrorism would continue until the threat is completely eradicated from the country. This operation follows a recent engagement where over 71 terrorists were killed in Shaban and other areas of Balochistan. On September 20, two officers and four others were killed in a fire exchange in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu, while eight terrorists were killed in separate operations on September 17.

Earlier this month, over 20 terrorists were eliminated during multiple engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 3 and 5. According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), at least 378 people were killed in terrorist attacks in August, with 203 terrorists eliminated and 54 security personnel martyred by security forces. Balochistan emerged as the most affected province, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
