In the heart of Taman Rasa Sayang, Petaling Jaya, Comprendes, Mendes? offers an authentic Mexican dining experience. Founder and chef Mervin Chin, a Malaysian-Chinese, spent months refining his recipes after opening the eatery on August 1, seeking the authentic taste and touch of Mexico.

The restaurant's warm and inviting atmosphere, with Mexican-inspired fabric, hanging plants, a comfortable couch, and a karaoke set, transports visitors to a cantina in Mexico. Chin's passion for Mexican culture shines through in the space, as well as in the menu.

The menu features four pork-based dishes - carnitas, al pastor, cochinita pibil, and pozole - made with fresh ingredients and traditional techniques. Corn tortillas are handmade upon order, while other essential elements like corn flour, achiote, and hominy are imported from Mexico.

The carnitas, made with soft, slow-cooked pork, is complemented by salsa, onions, and cilantro. Served with lime, it's a flavorful and satisfying dish. The cochinita pibil, a Yucatán specialty, is tender pork marinated overnight with spices and wrapped in banana leaves, offering a burst of tangy and slightly sweet flavors.

The al pastor, a famous Mexican street taco, combines pork, smoky charcoal-grilled and salsa, onions, cilantro, and pineapple. Meanwhile, the pozole, a comforting stew with pork and hominy, is a true crowd-pleaser.

Comprendes, Mendes? also offers a wide selection of 150+ tequilas to pair with your meal. The restaurant is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 5 pm to 11 pm, and reservations are recommended.
