Saratoga's Farr scoring big goals for Stony Brook men's soccer

Ryan Farr, a native of Saratoga Springs, is leading the Stony Brook men's soccer team with five goals this season. The Seawolves secured a 2-1 win over Monmouth on Monday, thanks to Farr's goal in the 69th minute. Farr, who stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 160 pounds, has scored five goals overall, including one in each of his last three games.

He has been instrumental in Stony Brook's 4-1-5 record and 1-1-2 CAA play record. As a freshman, Farr was named to the conference's All-Rookie team after scoring five goals and providing three assists. At Saratoga High, he had 21 goals and 11 assists as a senior and was recognized on the 2023 United Soccer Coaches All-America team.

Farr was also a two-time all-state first team pick and a two-time Suburban Council Player of the Year. Maddie Mills led the Grove City women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Waynesburg, recording a shutout with 19 saves. Jackson Cusack, a wide receiver for St. John Fisher football, contributed 144 yards and a touchdown in the team's 38-8 win over FDU-Florham.

Bridget McLaughlin, a senior on the St. Michael's women's soccer team, contributed an assist in their 2-0 victory over American International and has kept the team's goal tally low at two. Alexa Belanger, a junior on the Houghton women's volleyball team, recorded nine kills and 10 digs in the team's 3-0 loss to SUNY Morrisville.

James Pepper Jr. has been a standout for the Saint Anselm football team, with 23 tackles, 14 unassisted, two sacks, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble. Abigail Hughes has started all nine games for the SUNY Polytechnic women's soccer team, scoring seven points from two goals and three assists. Freshman Skylar Blackwell has posted three shutouts and is the starter for the Wildcats, conceding 19 goals with 70 saves and three shutouts.
