Sabadell reordena sus centros y crea un 'hub' de proyectos

Banco Sabadell has announced plans to renovate its main corporate centers in Sant Cugat del Vall�s (Barcelona), Las Tablas (Madrid), and Alicante, while simultaneously exploring future options for three additional office buildings. The transformation project aims to implement a more collaborative work model, which will help streamline decision-making and expedite the execution of strategic projects.

Currently, Sant Cugat hosts around 2,000 employees, while Las Tablas and Alicante have 800 and 600 professionals, respectively.

The renovation and reconfiguration of the three corporate centers are expected to cost between 15 and 18 million euros. In addition to these costs, a new hub for strategic initiatives such as artificial intelligence, private banking, and digital banking is planned for the Sant Cugat site, which is set to be operational by 2030. The hub will begin functioning at a temporary location on October 13th, hosting twelve projects to help streamline operations.

This temporary hub will serve around a thousand employees who currently work in the CBS building in Sant Cugat, who have a low presence at the current Plaza Cataluña office in Sabadell.

Sabadell, led by Marc Armengol, stated that the collaborative work model will be tested through a successful pilot program in the bank itself. In Las Tablas, the center's spaces will be reorganized to encourage greater collaboration, while the building on Escar Esplá Street in Alicante will be adapted to accommodate the 200 employees of the technological expertise center currently located in the Agua Amarga property.

The Plaza Cataluña building in Sabadell, the former headquarters of the Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CAM), may also be up for sale.
