Kodiak Robotics at Evercore forum: driverless trucking nears launch

Kodiak Robotics announced on 29 September 2026 at Evercore's 9th Annual ADAS, AV & AI Forum that it is nearing the launch of driverless commercial trucking. The company has reached 93% completion of its Autonomy Readiness Measure, with the final 7% focusing on safety culture, safety management systems, functional safety, and system performance validation.

Kodiak has strong financial backing, with $150 million in cash and equivalents and a quarterly burn rate of $37 million, giving it runway until the second half of 2027. The company's strategy involves a single AI platform applicable to industrial trucking, highway freight, and defense applications, with a focus on safety and real-world operations.

Kodiak is working towards driverless highway service, with the final stages of the Autonomy Readiness Measure covering safety culture, safety management systems, functional safety, and system performance validation. The company operates more than 35 driverless trucks, with Atlas Energy Solutions serving as an important proof point, scaling from 2 trucks in December 2022 to 35 trucks by the end of Q2 2024.

Kodiak also has a partnership with IKEA, having logged over 750,000 miles of joint testing and more than 1,300 loads, including retail destination deliveries.
