Radio Dictation of National Unity-2026 to take place Oct 27

The All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity-2026 is scheduled for October 27, marking Ukrainian Writing and Language Day, according to Suspilne broadcaster. This will be the 27th edition of the event, broadcast live across all Suspilne platforms. Suspilne announced that the author of the dictation text and the person who will read it live will be revealed soon.

The 2023 Radio Dictation saw participation from over half a million people, with 20,000 texts submitted for review, leading to seven winners. That year, poet Kateryna Kalytko, a laureate of the Shevchenko Prize, crafted the winning text, which was read by actor and theater director Oleksiy Hnatkovsky. In 2024, only one participant submitted a flawless text, while five others each made two mistakes.

More than ten thousand texts were submitted that year, primarily via email, though paper submissions were also accepted. Writer Oksana Zabuzhko penned the 2024 winning piece, which was performed by poet Pavlo Vyshyvaka. Six participants in 2025 achieved perfect scores, with 11 making a single error. That year's submission count reached over eleven thousand two hundred texts, authored by writer and translator Yevheniia Kuznietsova, read by People's Artist of Ukraine and actress Nataliia Sumska.
