Proteas target ODI series clean sweep against Australia

The South African cricket team, known as the Proteas, are aiming for a clean sweep in their final One Day International (ODI) against Australia, following their dominance in the first two matches of the three-match series. The Proteas will look to extend their winning streak into the three-match Test series, set to begin in Durban the following week. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada, who was unable to participate in the ODI series due to a hamstring injury, has been added to the preliminary Test squad, although his final selection is not confirmed. Coach Shukri Conrad will consider Rabada's availability based on his condition and ability to cope with the intensity of a Test match before making a final decision.

Following Australia's two-day tour match in Potchefstroom, Conrad urged fans to support the team respectfully, acknowledging the rough history between the two nations, but emphasizing the importance of treating the opposition with dignity. Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj, who has taken six wickets so far, believes that a series clean sweep will boost the team's confidence ahead of next year's home World Cup, highlighting the importance of building on this foundation and focusing on the basics of cricket.
