Police arrest 3 over alleged kidnap and murder of 33-year-old Nana Yaw Kyere

The Ghana Police Service has apprehended three individuals in relation to the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old Nana Yaw Kyere. Kyere, who disappeared on September 22, 2026, was identified as missing by his mother and an uncle, who discovered his partially burnt body in a bush at Community 18 on September 21. The suspects, identified as Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams, and Josiah Obodai, were apprehended following an investigation by the Missing Persons Unit.

According to the police, Kyere had left his residence in Kokomlemle on September 19, 2026, in his Honda Civic but failed to return. Sarah Osei Adams allegedly lured Kyere to Tefe's residence at Teshie Agbleza, where Tefe allegedly attacked Kyere and caused serious injuries. Kyere was then moved to another room and left unattended, resulting in his death.

His body was later transported to an area near the motorway in a Kia Morning vehicle on September 20, where it was allegedly dumped and set on fire. The partially burnt body was discovered on September 21. A police statement revealed that Tefe allegedly sold Kyere's iPhone 12 to Sunday Omeje for GH¢100, who has since been cautioned and detained.

Josiah Obodai, who is under investigation for allegedly disposing of Kyere's body, remains in custody. Police have also seized a Kia Morning belonging to Obodai's father, which they believe was used to transport the deceased's remains. The police have stated that Tefe, Adams, and Obodai are currently in custody and will face court proceedings as the investigation continues.

Further arrests are expected as investigators work to identify any additional individuals involved in the incident.
