Obsession Director Curry Barker's Next Film, Anything But Ghosts, Gets May 2027 Theatrical Release

Curry Barker, the director of Obsession, is set to release his next film Anything But Ghosts on May 7, 2027. This horror-comedy is set in the same universe as Obsession, but features a completely different cast of characters. The film stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Aaron Paul, Violet McGraw, Chris Reinache, and Cooper Tomlinson. Tomlinson, who previously played Bear's best friend Ian in Obsession, plays the role of two fake paranormal investigators who encounter real ghosts.

The film's synopsis describes it as "if Key and Peele walked into Hereditary," with Tomlinson explaining that it's a buddy comedy about con artist ghost hunters who have to face the real-life consequences of their actions. Barker and Tomlinson are producing and co-writing the film, which is being produced by Focus Features and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.

The film's worldwide rights are held by Focus, while Universal Pictures International is handling international distribution. Obsession, which received critical acclaim and became an instant horror classic, was a massive success for Barker, earning him the attention of studios looking to collaborate with him on future projects.
