Nwifuru laments slow work pace at Aerospace varsity

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has expressed disappointment over the sluggish progress at the University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering in Onueke, Ezza South Local Government Area. According to the governor, despite commencing operations concurrently with the ICT University in Oferekpe Agbaja, the contractors for the UAAE have underperformed.

Nwifuru recognized that the project's site initially encountered challenges due to waterlogged soil, yet stressed that the construction phase has already exceeded two dry seasons without significant advancement. The governor directed the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Professor Amari Omaka, to intensively oversee the contractors, bolster their supervision, and expedite the workflow to guarantee the timely completion of the project.

He further instructed the commissioner to impose stricter contractual stipulations and intensify pressure on the contractors to hasten the execution and delivery of the project. During his inspection tour, the governor visited several other notable projects in the state, such as the Reward Estate, the Flyover Tunnel, and the newly built Ebonyi Hotel, a historic endeavor initially proposed as the World Trade Centre by Ebonyi State's first executive governor, Dr. Sam Egwu.
