Nwifuru laments slow work pace at Aerospace varsity

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has voiced his discontent over the sluggish progress at the University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering in Ezza South, South Eastern Nigeria. The governor contended that, despite commencing operations concurrently with the ICT University in Oferekpe Agbaja, the UAAE contractors have been underperforming.

Nwifuru recognized the initial engineering difficulties posed by the waterlogged soil at the site, yet stressed that despite two dry seasons, the project's progress has been minimal. He instructed the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Professor Amari Omaka, to intensify monitoring of the contractors, tighten control measures, and expedite the project timeline to ensure timely completion.

Nwifuru directed the commissioner to enforce more stringent contractual terms and heighten scrutiny on the contractors to hasten their work and deliver the project promptly. In addition to UAAE, the governor's inspection tour encompassed other significant projects in the state, such as the Reward Estate, the Flyover Tunnel, and the refurbished Ebonyi Hotel, an ambitious venture originally envisioned as the World Trade Centre by the state's inaugural executive governor, Dr Sam Egwu.
