NetApp plans to explore SAP cloud infrastructure integration

San Jose, California - NetApp has announced its intention to investigate collaboration with SAP Cloud Infrastructure, SAP's Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform, according to a press release issued today. The NetApp Platform is compatible with aspects of SAP Cloud Infrastructure's storage architecture, offering file and block storage services.

Álvaro Celis, Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial, Partner and Ecosystem Officer at NetApp, highlighted the companies' shared dedication to supporting mission-critical enterprise environments. This partnership aims to bolster SAP's cloud infrastructure footprint across various regions and availability zones, accommodating country and industry-specific compliance requirements.

Jonathan Bletscher, SVP, Head of Infrastructure Platform Engineering & Delivery at SAP SE, emphasized SAP Cloud Infrastructure's role as the foundation for secure, resilient, and sovereign digital transformation. Together, NetApp and SAP are exploring methods to fortify the infrastructure and data layer that supports SAP applications, SAP Business AI Platform, and customer workloads, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security for customers.

NetApp intends to collaborate with SAP on joint go-to-market initiatives aimed at facilitating customer migrations and operations on SAP Cloud Infrastructure for both SAP and non-SAP workloads. They are also considering the utilization of NetApp Object storage within SAP Cloud Infrastructure, including a technical validation.
