Challenges across the value chain, including access to agricultural inputs and finance, transportation, storage, processing, distribution, and market access, have hindered productivity, increased costs, and led to higher post-harvest losses, affecting food availability and affordability for many Nigerians.
Mr. Abubakar A. Bello, CEO/Managing Director of the Nigeria Export and Import Bank (NEXIM), presented at the roundtable and identified three areas that require coordinated actions. Bello, represented by Head of the Lagos Regional Office, Ms. Daniella Jarikre-Ikazoboh, suggested that government and investors should collaborate through public-private partnerships to develop special agro-industrial processing zones, home storage hubs, and rural neighborhood facilities.
