Nancy Guthrie investigators reviewing 'new possible ransom note,' sheriff's department says

Authorities in Pima County, Arizona are investigating the potential existence of a new ransom note connected to the ongoing disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, who vanished from her home outside Tucson eight months ago. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI Guthrie Task Force were recently notified about the possible ransom note and related social media comments, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Law enforcement is currently evaluating the note's authenticity. The source of the note and its contents have not been disclosed by officials. In July, two ransom notes were initially sent to a local television station following Nancy Guthrie's abduction on February 1. The first note, sent on February 2, claimed that she was safe but frightened, and promised her release unharmed if her captors delivered $4 million in cryptocurrency.

The second note, sent on February 6, alleged that Guthrie had died shortly after her kidnapping. Her current fate remains a mystery, and no arrests have been made in connection with her disappearance. The investigation has raised numerous unanswered questions, including the number of individuals involved in the abduction and whether the perpetrator was familiar with Nancy Guthrie.

Surveillance footage released by the FBI shows a masked individual allegedly tampering with a camera on her front porch, obstructing it with a plant. Nancy Guthrie's family has been actively seeking information, sharing their concerns through social media videos.
