N.B. government lacks evidence collaborative-care clinics reach those in need: report

New Brunswick's auditor general has released a report stating the provincial government lacks evidence to determine if their collaborative-care clinics are effectively reaching those in need of primary care. Paul Martin conducted an audit of the 14 clinics established between April 2025 and March 2026, revealing the Health Department's data on primary care wait-lists was deemed inaccurate and unreliable.

Martin also found it difficult to ascertain whether the new clinics had successfully taken patients off the provincial wait-list. Despite the auditor general's recommendations for improved oversight of the clinics, the government remains committed to opening at least 30 collaborative-care teams across the province by 2028.
