Muslim-Muslim ticket can cause religious tension – Primate Ayodele

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned President Bola Tinubu to be cautious regarding the possibility of a Muslim-Muslim ticket from the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement, Ayodele emphasized that such a ticket could potentially lead to an unforeseen religious crisis. According to the statement, "Let us be cautious against a religious crisis because of this Muslim-Muslim ticket. What I see is trouble if this is not well handled."

Ayodele pointed out that the Muslim-Muslim ticket could cause pain for some individuals, and there is a risk of violence if the situation is not handled appropriately. He stressed that the issue will not only affect the presidential election but could also impact the states that adopt the same ticket format. He urged Tinubu to demonstrate wisdom in handling the situation, stating, "Otherwise, a lot of things will come out from it."

The cleric identified several states where President Tinubu might find it challenging to promote his candidature, including those in the South West region. These states include Lagos State, Oyo, Osun, Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Niger, Bayelsa, Imo, Enugu, Delta, Benue, and Abuja. Ayodele cautioned that the election will be a tough contest for Tinubu, even in Lagos State, which he described as not being "bread and butter."

He added that the president must exert significant effort and handle all necessary aspects carefully in these states. Primate Ayodele concluded by emphasizing the importance of wisdom and careful handling of the situation to avoid religious tension that could spread across the nation.
