MP’s Jhabua Cop’s Timely CPR Saves Presiding Officer Who Collapsed During Election Duty

Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh – A quick reaction and immediate CPR by a police officer saved the life of the presiding officer who collapsed due to chest pain while performing election duty at a polling station on Monday. Dayaram Chauhan, who was the presiding officer at Polytechnic College in Jhabua, experienced chest pain and collapsed while standing at the polling center.

Police head constable 298 Chandra Prakash, who was stationed at the location, promptly administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Chauhan's condition improved thanks to the timely CPR, which helped stabilize him until additional medical help arrived. Following the incident, Ranapur police station in-charge inspector KC Sirvi dispatched Sector Mobile 08 officer sub-inspector Vesta Solanki from Jhabua Kotwali to the polling center.

The police team transported Chauhan to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Ranapur, where he received initial treatment. Simultaneously, the Indore Crime Branch launched an investigation into the incident, recovering around 13 grams of MD drug and apprehending one individual as part of their ongoing probe into an interstate drug supply network.
