Moriri urges Sundowns fans to back Cardoso

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Surprise Moriri has encouraged the club’s supporters to stand by head coach Miguel Cardoso as the league resumes following the FIFA international break. Cardoso and his team recently triumphed in the African-Asian Pacific Cup during the break, earning them a spot in the CAF Champions League. While some fans have previously doubted Cardoso's approach, his leadership has played a significant role in guiding Sundowns to the title last season.

Moriri, speaking on Radio 2000, emphasized the importance of fan support, stating, "You must remember that Sundowns fans know their football, and even when you win sometimes they will always say 'we won but…' So I think our coach really understands our team." He urged supporters to be patient and rally behind Cardoso and the players, as they are in need of encouragement to deliver results on the pitch.

Sundowns will face their long-standing rivals Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on October 10, aiming to defend their CAF Champions League title and challenge Pirates for the Betway Premiership. Moriri believes Cardoso deserves continued support as the club works towards these goals, acknowledging the hard work the technical team is putting in to make fans happy.
