Ministry opens applications for Qatar Education Excellence Award 2027 in October

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) launched the online application period for the Qatar Education Excellence Award, which will run from October 1-31. Prospective candidates are encouraged to review the approved criteria and requirements for each category and prepare the necessary documents and supporting evidence for submission through the electronic system during this timeframe.

Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi, CEO of the Qatar Education Excellence Award, emphasized that the award continues to recognize outstanding individuals from Qatar and their scientific, educational, and research accomplishments, while promoting a culture of excellence and creativity across society. The award's objectives extend beyond simply increasing the number of winners; they aim to foster an appreciation for excellence and its impact on personal development and national progress.

Al Mohannadi expressed hope that participating in the award will enrich candidates' knowledge, hone their skills, develop their capabilities, and encourage further cultivation of their potential. The online application portal remains open until October 31, 2026, with results announced on February 4, 2027, and the awards ceremony scheduled for April 18.

In preparation for the application period, the Qatar Education Excellence Award conducted virtual introductory sessions in June and an electronic system orientation session in September, providing candidates with information on nomination criteria, evaluation standards, and requirements for various categories. Prospective applicants are encouraged to use the Help Center on the award's website, which offers frequently asked questions, answers to eligibility and evaluation queries, and direct contact via the award's official email address.

In 2026, the award received 371 applicants, a 34% increase from 2025, with 108 winners, including 38 platinum medalists and 70 gold medalists. The Qatar Education Excellence Award is part of national efforts to cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation, recognize talent and outstanding achievements in educational, scientific, and research fields, and support the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
