Mazlan Ahmad dilantik lembaga pengarah Zico Trust

Accountant Mazlan Ahmad has been appointed as an independent director, not an executive, in the board of Zico Trust (M) Bhd, effective 23rd September. Mazlan, who also advises the Suruhanjaya Integriti Agensi Penguatkuasaan, serves as a member of the executive board of the Institute of Accountants Malaysia and the Society and Trustee Institute Malaysia.

He heads the Masyi Group of Companies and currently serves as the deputy chairman of the Waqaf Pendidikan Anak-Anak Yatim Miskin Malaysia Foundation. Mazlan has also served as an advisor to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM), Productivity Malaysia, and the Special Task Force on Public Perception of Corruption. He has also served as a professor of practice at INCEIF University and a visiting professor at the International Islamic University Malaysia.

Zico Trust's Vice-Chairman Jeevan M Sundaram stated that the majority of Mazlan's career has been spent in institutions that uphold integrity, accountability, and good governance. He emphasized that principles remain crucial in the asset management industry, especially when families entrust their assets based on confidence in the standards practiced.

"His experience will help us maintain these standards and strengthen the trust placed in Zico Trust," he said in a media statement. Mazlan expressed his enthusiasm to join Zico Trust, a trust company emphasizing good governance and accountability, while taking on responsibilities for the interests of the present and future. "I hope I can contribute my experience in governance and institutional oversight to help the institution continue fulfilling its responsibilities," he said.
