Man City CEO defiant over Premier League charges

Manchester City's CEO, Ferran Soriano, has vehemently declared his defiance towards other Premier League teams' executives regarding the club's guilt in a majority of charges, according to BBC Sport. Soriano made this statement during a board meeting of European Football Clubs (formerly the ECA) in Copenhagen, just before its general assembly on Tuesday.

He vowed to continue fighting the charges, emphasizing the long road ahead, as the club's Chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, had stated in a letter to fans. The BBC reported that Soriano told the executives that the Premier League's investigation began in 2018, and it would require "a lot more time."

Soriano's defiance was not followed by any Q&A session with the media, as he left the meeting without answering any questions posed by them. Among the attendees were Jean-Claude Blanc, the Chief of International Football Relations at Manchester United, and Dan Friedkin, the owner of Roma and owner of Everton, who attended the meeting in his role as owner of Roma.

The charges against Manchester City were vast, encompassing a wide range of rule breaches. The primary focus was on claims that the club inflated sponsorship revenue from connected companies and made other "off the books" payments to skirt around financial regulations. On Friday, Manchester City was found guilty of the vast majority of the 115 charges brought against them.
