Letak jawatan: Anwar akan bincang dengan Loke

Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, was set to hold a discussion with DAP Senior Assistant Loke Siew Fook following his resignation as Minister of Transport, according to the launch of Malaysia's Ikhtisas Day at the KLGCC Convention Center today. Loke had submitted his letter of resignation for the ministerial position yesterday.

Anwar questioned why certain parties were urging Loke to resign, asking what they wanted from him. He inquired about the nation's state of affairs, questioning how a corruption issue could be set aside while discussing Loke's resignation. Loke's performance as Minister and his outstanding achievements were acknowledged, prompting Anwar to state that he would engage in a conversation with Loke.

Earlier, Loke announced that his resignation as Transport Minister would take effect immediately following Najib Razak's release from prison to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest. Loke met with Anwar yesterday to discuss this matter, and he firmly declared his intention to assume the position should Najib be granted his conditional release.

According to Loke, Anwar advised him to continue his duties for now. The DAP Central Committee decided that Loke would assume the ministerial position upon Najib's conditional release. Other Deputy Ministers from DAP would remain in the government to ensure political stability.
