John Boadu leads NPP chairmanship race in latest survey ahead of Saturday’s delegates conference

John Boadu, the National Chairman aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has declared that his primary focus is to secure victory for the party in the 2028 general election, rather than pursuing longer-term political aspirations. In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 29, Mr. Boadu emphasized that the party's immediate priority should be to rebuild its structures, restore member confidence, and prepare for the upcoming general election. He stated, "My focus is victory in 2028. Those with Agenda 2032 can wait."

Mr. Boadu, a former General Secretary of the NPP, argued that the party must carefully consider the candidates who possess the necessary experience and organizational capacity to lead it back to electoral success. He posed a crucial question to the party: "At this critical moment, the NPP must ask one question: who can lead the Party back to victory?" Boadu confidently answered, "My answer is clear. I have done it before, and I am ready to do it again."

Boadu highlighted his experience in party organisation and election management during the 2016 and 2020 general elections. During the 2016 election, when the party faced internal challenges and some doubted the possibility of victory, he worked alongside party members, sympathizers, and volunteers to secure a win. In 2020, he helped defend the party's victory amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Boadu, he introduced several systems during his tenure as Acting General Secretary and Director of Operations to enhance the party's electoral preparedness. These initiatives included the Pink Sheet Tracking System, rapid results collation, nationwide training for trainers and polling agents, the V16 volunteer-based election-protection structure, mock elections, Operation Adopt a Polling Station, strategic retail campaigning in key constituencies, and Operation Eagle Eye.

In response to the question of who should lead the NPP back to victory, Boadu asserted, "I have contested and won elections within the Party, served at the polling-station, constituency and national levels, and helped manage national campaigns. I know elections. I know the Party. I know what it takes to win." He urged delegates to consider his experience and knowledge of the party's structures and electoral operations when electing the National Chairman on Saturday, October 3.

Boadu is one of four candidates contesting the National Chairman position and currently holds the first position on the ballot. He urged delegates to support his candidacy, stating, "I have walked the road to victory before. Let us walk it again, together. Let's bring back the winning ways of the NPP. Vote John Boadu for National Chairman."
