It’s not just you, Spotify is down in partial outage this morning

A partial outage has left the Spotify app in disarray, with core functions failing for numerous users. Around 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT this morning, a substantial surge of Spotify users began reporting issues with the music streaming service. Evidence of the problem can be seen in the spike of reports on DownDetector, as well as across various social media platforms.

Those impacted are unable to access search and other features, encountering a "Something went wrong" error message. Ironically, music playback appears to be functioning least affected. Trying to locate new tracks or access playlists that are not stored on your device may not work, but playback seems to be operating without issues so far.

The extent of the partial outage depends on whether you can initiate playback. Other features, including Spotify Connect, are also impacted. Reports have emerged of users being logged out of the app, making them unable to sign back in. Spotify has not yet acknowledged the outage, but updates will be provided in this post as more information becomes available.
