'It is difficult to accept Tok is gone,' says Siti Hasmah's granddaughter

Ally Mukhriz, granddaughter of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, shared her sorrow over the loss of her grandmother, stating it was hard to accept she was no longer with them. She announced the unexpected death of her grandmother yesterday on an Instagram Story. Ally, whose name is Meera Alyanna Mukhriz, expressed her gratitude to those who offered their support to her and her family following the death of her beloved Tok, the wife of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Ally spoke of the challenge of coming to terms with the loss of the woman she called Tok affectionately. She thanked everyone who reached out to her and her family, assuring them that she would respond to their messages as soon as possible. Dr Siti Hasmah made a profound impact on her, and she hoped that her message would also resonate with many others who had reached out.

She expressed her gratitude once more for the messages of support, emphasizing that they meant a great deal to them. It is hoped that the family will be comforted by the prayers of those who knew and loved Dr Siti Hasmah.

Dr Siti Hasmah was buried at 6.20pm at Pusara Negara in Precinct 20, Putrajaya. Her husband, Dr Mahathir, their children, and other family members attended the funeral. A state funeral was held to honor the wife of the former prime minister, who passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 9.20am on Monday at the age of 100.
