Iran offers up to $40,000 reward to Middle East citizens who capture, kill US soldiers - report

A video attributed to Iran's Army Spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia suggests that the Iranian government is offering a reward of up to $40,000 to individuals who capture or kill American soldiers. This claim was made in a video circulated on social media on Tuesday. Akraminia stated that the offer stems from a desire to encourage participation in the "jihad against the American enemy" by those unable to physically engage in combat.

He explained that if an Iranian citizen captures a US soldier "dead or alive," a reward of approximately $20,000 will be provided. If the individual making the capture is a woman, the reward would be doubled to $40,000.

Moreover, Akraminia proposed that if citizens from Middle Eastern countries were to carry out similar actions, such as capturing or killing an American soldier, they could also receive the same financial reward. This report is not the first instance of Iran offering bounties for the capture or killing of US troops. In August, the Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Amir Hatami announced a similar $30,000 reward for citizens who manage to capture or kill a US soldier.
