RevoCube Unveils Port Solis, 100% Solar-Powered Eco-Destination in Lagos

RevoCube, a Nigerian group specializing in sustainable technology, has introduced Port Solis, an entirely solar-powered sustainable city and multi-purpose eco-destination located in Lagos. The unveiling of this pioneering project aimed to showcase how renewable energy can power both commercial and lifestyle developments in the region.

The event, which saw participation from government officials, industry leaders, technology experts, entrepreneurs, and media personalities, including the Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Biodun Ogunleye, and Dr. Seun Oluwalade, CEO of EV World Africa and Renewable Lifestyle Engineering, featured a range of facilities and services.

These included upcycled shipping containers transformed into living and commercial spaces, such as Seven Knots, a short-stay lodge made from seven containers, and The Bridge, an event and innovation hub. Additional services like Solis Bistro & Lounge, a spa, and a hair salon were also on offer. The infrastructure of Port Solis is backed by RevoCube Energies' solar and inverter storage systems.

The project's CEO, Mr. Olanrewaju Ogunkunle, emphasized that this venture is more than just a commercial facility; it is a testament to the seamless coexistence of sustainable living and commercial growth. The project underscores the vision that innovation should not remain a concept but should enhance the daily lives of people by solving real problems and streamlining how they work and conduct business.

Ogunleye, while acknowledging the significant electricity supply deficit in Lagos, stressed the need for the state to develop at least six gigawatts to function effectively, given its population of over 25 million and a demand of approximately 25 gigawatts. He also highlighted that the government is deploying renewable-energy systems across various public assets and considering incentives for developers who adopt green construction practices.

The event also served as a platform to discuss the applications of renewable energy in transportation, electric mobility, education, hospitality, and technology. It concluded with a call for enhanced collaboration among various stakeholders to expand access to clean energy and foster technological development in Nigeria.
