Indian cricketer hits 24 fours, outscores entire Australia U-19

In the opening Youth Test match of the series, India U-19 demonstrated a commanding performance against Australia U-19, securing a three-day victory. Captain Lakshya Raichandani played a pivotal role, scoring a remarkable 240 runs in his innings, which outpaced the entire Australian U-19 team's total in both innings combined. The Indian side posted a formidable 494 runs in their first innings, while Australia managed a paltry 217 runs.

In the second innings, India was bowled out for 229, but the margin of victory was still substantial.

Raichandani's innings was a standout, as he surpassed Australia's total in both innings put together. He not only added 30 runs to his overnight score of 210 but also contributed significantly to the partnership with Mohit Ulva, who scored 92 runs off 84 balls. The duo formed an impressive ninth-wicket partnership, amassing 180 runs.

Australia's second innings quickly unraveled as Ishan Om took three wickets in a single over, including the captain and two key players. The young Australian side then saw a 60-run stand between Blake Cattle and Neel Patel, but Yashbardhan Chauhan broke that partnership. Chauhan dismissed Patel for 41 and went on to strike twice more in the 26th over, reducing Australia to 87-6. Cattle managed to score a century, posting a quickfire 123 runs off 114 balls, which included 16 fours and four sixes.

Despite Cattle's valiant effort, Yashbardhan eventually dismissed him in the 58th over. This left Raichandani to dictate the bowling side, taking six wickets in the match and eight in the inning. With this performance, India U-19 secured a strong start to the Youth Test series, setting the tone for the remaining fixtures, including the second Youth Test scheduled for October 5 in Ahmedabad.
