Implementation of TRAFFITECH-GH rescheduled to November 1 - Police

The Ghana Police Service has postponed the complete launch of its automated traffic enforcement system, TRAFFITECH-GH, to November 1, 2026, from its originally planned date of October 1, 2026. The extension was made to provide the public with additional time for education and awareness about the new program. The campaign will explain how TRAFFITECH-GH functions, the specific traffic violations it will target, and the process for issuing Electronic Notices of Violation (ENV) to drivers who break traffic laws.

The program, managed by the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), is part of the Police Service's strategy to combat road indiscipline and increase adherence to traffic regulations in Ghana. The Police Service has advised motorists, drivers, and vehicle owners to utilize this extra month to become familiar with the system before the November 1 implementation.

In a statement released on September 29, 2026, the Service expressed gratitude to the media for their role in promoting the program and reaffirmed its dedication to collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the successful rollout of TRAFFITECH-GH, with the ultimate goal of enhancing road safety.
