Full implementation of TRAFFITECH-GH rescheduled to November 1

The Ghana Police Service has postponed the full implementation of the TRAFFITECH-GH automated traffic law enforcement program, originally set for October 1, to November 1, 2026. This decision aims to provide more time for public education and awareness about the program, its operations, the traffic offences it will detect, and the Electronic Notices of Violation (ENV) that will be issued to those who violate traffic laws.

In a press release on September 29, the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) explained the rescheduling, stating that it will allow for a more comprehensive public understanding of TRAFFITECH-GH. The police emphasized that the program is part of their efforts to address indiscipline on Ghana's roads and improve compliance with traffic regulations.

They urged motorists, drivers, and vehicle owners to use the additional month to familiarize themselves with the program before its rollout. The police also expressed gratitude to the media for their ongoing support throughout the project's introduction and reaffirmed their commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure the program's successful implementation for enhanced road safety.
