Ex-Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme has weighed in on the recent controversy involving his former rival, CEO Florentino Perez. Despite the election taking place months ago, tensions still run high between the two. Perez reportedly snapped at Riquelme at a Real Madrid match against Atletico Madrid, leaving the latter to react during an interview with Cope.

Riquelme initially had no idea the encounter had become a news story, having only learned about it from the press. He reiterated his stance that the election is over and that Madridismo must now unite. He emphasized the importance of Madriditas coming together, stating, "Real Madrid has to be one and that’s how it will be for me."

When asked about Real Madrid's struggles this season, Riquelme acknowledged the potential impact of signing Erling Haaland and Rodri. He had previously pledged to bring these players to the Bernabeu if elected president. However, he refrained from commenting on whether his proposals were taken seriously by the current management. Instead, Riquelme expressed his hope for the team's success this season and his intention to continue supporting Real Madrid, both in Spain and abroad.
