European vacation: I enjoyed myself, says Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has reported that he thoroughly enjoyed his month-long vacation in Europe, stating as much in a brief conversation with reporters at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Tuesday evening. Upon his arrival home, Tinubu was greeted by a group of high-ranking officials including Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abas Tajudeen, and Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara.

Addressing rumors about his health during his absence, the President emphasized that "rumours will always emanate from politics. The fact remains that I’m here, healthy, sound and ready to go. Ready to kick, ready to walk. There’s nothing wrong." Tinubu's journey from Abuja began on August 30, with a week spent in London before continuing on to Paris, where he participated in various engagements.

These included a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and meetings with business leaders. The President's return route through Lagos was intended to pay tribute to the memory of the late Chief MKO Abiola. Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga had earlier clarified that the extended vacation was by a few days and reassured the public that the president was in good health.

Upon his return to Lagos, Tinubu is set to attend the October 1 premiere of a film in honor of Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre. He is also scheduled to meet with political leaders and associates before resuming his duties in Abuja.
