Disney is initiating its third round of layoffs under CEO Josh D Amaro, according to a source familiar with the matter. The cuts come just months after D Amaro assumed leadership from longtime CEO Bob Iger in mid-March. Disney previously downsized its marketing team in April and cut ESPN staff in July. The latest round affects several hundred employees across various departments, including technology and human resources, according to a person familiar with the decision.

Deadline first reported on Tuesday's layoffs, which were also confirmed by Business Insider. D Amaro had previously stated that the cuts were not a reflection of employees' contributions or the company's overall strength. The second round of layoffs occurred in July, with ESPN feeling the brunt of the downsizing as Disney integrated NFL Network employees.

Severance packages vary based on rank and tenure, with non-managers who have worked at the company for less than five years receiving four weeks of pay, while those with more than five years of service are entitled to one week of pay per year, up to a maximum of 52 weeks.
