Deputy Senate President Barau sacks Rashida as special assistant over alleged anti-party activities

Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin has dismissed Rashida Adamu, known as Rashida Mai Sa’a, from her position as a Special Assistant in his office, effective immediately, according to a statement released on Monday. The announcement was made by Shitu Madaki Kunchi, a media aide to the Deputy Senate President. The official reason provided for the dismissal is the alleged involvement in anti-party activities and conduct detrimental to Barau’s political interests in Kano State.

The investigation into these allegations revealed that Mai Sa’a made public statements which could potentially incite political supporters and undermine the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. It further stated that she had made disparaging remarks about Senator Barau despite having benefited from political appointments and institutional support provided by him.

This move follows an administrative advisory issued by Barau’s office on Sunday, September 27, cautioning political appointees against what the office deemed as internal sabotage. This is the second significant departure from Barau’s team in recent weeks; earlier, Senator Barau also relieved another legislative aide, Umar Alhassan, known as King Indara, of his appointment.
