Charlie & Martin Sheen To Star As Father & Son In Comedy Series ‘Happy Jack’ For AMC

Father-son actors Charlie and Martin Sheen have joined forces for a new half-hour family comedy series titled "Happy Jack," which will air on AMC and AMC+. The show is set to begin production in Los Angeles early next year, with a premiere planned for 2027. Charlie Sheen will play Jack Chambers, a man described as a "bit of a lifelong ne’er-do-well" with two daughters. His daughter Kate keeps him on track, while his wild daughter Sam is more like her father.

Martin Sheen will portray Jack's father, Paul. The synopsis explains that when Sam brings her new boyfriend Paul home, Jack is shocked to discover that Paul is the same age as him. Despite initial resistance, Jack soon realizes he has an opportunity to be more involved in his daughters' lives.

The series is written by executive producers and co-showrunners Jim Patterson and Matt Ross, who have previously collaborated on "Two and a Half Men" and "The Ranch." Other executive producers include Charlie Sheen, Todd Christopher, The Tannenbaum Company's Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang. The creative team also includes AMC Studios President and AMC Global Media Chief Content Officer Dan McDermott, who expressed excitement about bringing "Happy Jack" to viewers.

Charlie Sheen commented on his return to television, stating that he has always believed moments matter when they are meant to. He expressed gratitude to AMC for making this happen and emphasized the show's meaningful nature. "Happy Jack" will be filmed in front of a live audience at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank and will be part of AMC Global Media's lineup of original programming presented at MIPCOM in October.
