CESC sets Oct. 5 deadline to complete UG cable works in Mysuru

Mysuru's CESC Chairman and MLA, Ramesh Bandisidde Gowda, has set a crucial deadline of October 5 to complete underground power cable works and restore affected roads and footpaths. At a recent meeting with officials and representatives of the agencies involved, Gowda emphasized the importance of this deadline, stating there would be no compromise in meeting it.

He instructed the agencies to ensure 100% restoration of affected locations and temporarily halt new works ahead of the Dasara festivities. Gowda expressed dissatisfaction over unattended trenches dug on roads and footpaths, directing officials to identify and properly close these areas, remove debris, and dispose of it appropriately.

He also stressed the need for barricades and warning boards at work sites for public safety. Gowda highlighted ongoing white-topping, underground drainage (UGD), and underground cable works across the city, warning that lack of coordination among agencies could cause public inconvenience. He directed officials and contractors to coordinate their activities and remove all CESC-related materials from public places before Dasara to maintain the city's appearance and ensure smooth movement.

A follow-up review meeting is set for October 6, with all agency heads expected to attend. Technical Director L. Lokesh, Mysuru Circle Superintending Engineer Sunil Kumar, and representatives from CESC and various agencies attended the meeting.
