Azam Khan Has a Hilarious Response to Fake News of His Death

Pakistan cricket wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan quipped in response to a fake news report claiming he had died. A video on social media showed the 28-year-old playing with friends when he encountered a local news account stating his supposed passing. The report claimed Azam had died the previous day and labeled it as "extremely sad news."

Rather than reacting with concern, Azam found the false claim humorous and jokingly mentioned his own death. "He was a very good player. He was supposed to play for Pakistan tomorrow, but he died today," he quipped. When Azam Khan shared the fake death news, it became clear the report was untrue. This incident highlights the growing trend of fabricated content involving prominent Pakistani cricketers online.

Recently, former fast bowler Wasim Akram also had to address a fake AI-generated video falsely reporting his death. Azam Khan's family had previously faced similar situations, including false claims in December 2025 that his father, former captain Moin Khan, had passed away. Moin later confirmed his survival in a video message. Azam, who has not played for Pakistan since June 6, 2024, in the T20 World Cup, has a T20I record of 14 appearances and 88 runs for Pakistan.

Despite his absence from international cricket, he remains active in domestic cricket, playing for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.
