[Asian Games] Lee So-hee, Baek Hana win women's doubles gold in badminton

At the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, South Korea's Lee So-hee and Baek Hana secured their first-ever women's doubles badminton gold medal. The pair, ranked world No. 2, defeated China's Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning in a hard-fought final. Lee and Baek triumphed 2-1, with scores of 26-28, 21-18, and 21-18 in the deciding sets. The team marked a significant milestone for South Korea, ending a 24-year title drought in the women's doubles category.

This victory marked the first time a South Korean women's doubles tandem had reached the top of the Asiad podium since Ra Kyung-min and Lee Kyung-won in 2002. Prior to this win, Lee and Baek had only achieved silver medals, losing to Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan of China in the 2023 Asiad. Their latest triumph came after a previous loss to a different Chinese team in the same final.
