Arkansas I-40 truck inspections uncover $5.1M in cocaine plus meth and stolen UTV

The Arkansas Highway Police made a significant drug discovery on September 24, uncovering 254 kilograms of cocaine and 2 kilograms of methamphetamine during two commercial vehicle inspections along Interstate 40. K-9 Mack and K-9 Drake both played crucial roles by alerting officers to the presence of contraband in the rigs. The cocaine, valued at an estimated $5.1 million, was the primary find, while the methamphetamine had a street value of approximately $22,000.

This incident marks only one of two major I-40 enforcement actions involving commercial vehicles. In the second stop, K-9 Drake's alert led to the discovery of a stolen UTV, along with 11 pounds of marijuana, 1 gram of methamphetamine, and 4.2 ounces of mushrooms. The marijuana was estimated to be worth around $33,000, while the smaller methamphetamine amount was valued near $100.

Both incidents were separate commercial motor vehicle stops, each triggered by a K-9 alert. The Arkansas Highway Police have not provided further investigative details on these cases, leaving some aspects of the story unexplored.
